Even when your diet and training are spot on, you can still come up short of meeting your muscle building goals. That’s because there’s a missing piece to the muscle-building puzzle that many men forget about. That missing piece involves testosterone production.
Boosting your testosterone is a key factor in achieving explosive muscle growth, burning fat and increasing metabolism. The biological processes involving human sex and growth hormones are an important aspect of hitting fitness and strength targets, which is why we’ve developed and perfected a one-of-a-kind formula that raises your testosterone levels. Our ingredients have been thoroughly sourced and blended together in the specific amounts from the best scientific research and in-depth sports-science studies out there. Gun Club Testosterone Support is designed to help you achieve optimum results and give you the vital muscle-building edge that you may have been missing until now.
It isn’t enough to just raise your testosterone levels either. Most other testosterone boosters forget about the rising estrogen levels that occur with increases in testosterone; but this needs to be taken into consideration. When testosterone is raised, your body tries to maintain a delicate balance between sex hormones, which can often lead to any gains converting into the female hormone estrogen as your body looks to create a state of homeostasis. Therefore, we have ensured that our natural ingredients are also capable of inhibiting aromatase production. In doing so, the usual increase in estrogen is avoided, along with the negative effects that it would bring – such as increased body fat and gynecomastia (or “manboobs”).
Let’s break down what is actually in the Gun Club Testosterone Support. That way you’ll know exactly what you’re getting from us.
Testosterone production is stimulated by fenugreek, due to the high content of furostanolic saponins it contains having a positive effect on leutinising hormone. An increase in both total and bioavailable testosterone can be observed upon supplementation with fenugreek too. Alongside such increases in testosterone, estradiol levels in the body do not increase as they usually would, therefore protecting from the negative side effects that this predominantly female sex hormone have been known to cause.
Urtica Dioica (300mg)
The inclusion of Urtica dioica (stinging nettles) in Gun Club Testosterone Support is an important one. Testosterone has a capacity to bind to sex hormone binding globule (SHBG), a capacity that increases with age. When binding is allowed to happen, testosterone loses its biological activity and is no longer considered to be free testosterone. Urtica counters this, as the lignans it contains – such as secoisolariciresniol and 3,4-divanillylterahydropfuran – bind to SHBG in testosterone’s place. Greater muscle growth can thus occur, as higher concentrations of free testosterone are available to bind at receptor sites and flow through the bloodstream.
Korean Ginseng (200mg)
Panax (or Korean) Ginseng is extremely popular as a choice of testosterone booster, and for good reason. Ginseng contains ginsenosides, a form of steroidal saponin that stimulates the adrenal and pituitary glands. The effect that ginsenosides have at different levels of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis results in an increase in various sexual hormones that are beneficial for men – notably, testosterone, DHT, and luteinizing hormone. Ginseng also plays a part in boosting nitric oxide levels in the body. This is turn leads to improved blood flow through the whole body, including to the HPG axis – thus enhancing testosterone production in the testes.
Citrus Bioflavanoid (150mg) / Soy Isoflavones (150mg)
Metabolites of citrus bioflavonoids have the ability to block aromatase production, and soy isoflavones have been found to bind to estrogen receptors in human body tissue, which then stops these receptors from binding with estradiol. Estradiol is typically considered to be a bad form of estrogen, especially for males, as it heavily encourages fat gain, bloating, water retention, and the feminization of men. But the real power of these two ingredients occurs when they are taken in combination. When used together, citrus bioflavonoids and soy isoflavones create a powerful, natural defense against estrogenic effects on the body; a much more potent effect than would be found if just one of these ingredients were included.
Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) works by first converting into diindolymethane (DIM) in the digestive tract, which allows for absorption by the body. DIM can then raise the levels of free testosterone in the blood in two ways. First, DIM increases production of 2-hydroxyestrone (2OHE) - biologically inactive metabolites of estrogen. 2OHE binds to proteins in the blood that would otherwise bind to testosterone. In taking the place of testosterone, the binding of 2OHE allows for higher levels of free testosterone.
The second benefit of DIM on testosterone synthesis involves nullifying the negative feedback loop of estrogen to the pituitary gland. The synthesis and release of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the pituitary gland stimulates Leydig production of testosterone in the testes. When blood estrogen levels are too high, this LH release is turned off, thus creating an imbalance between estrogen and testosterone, in favour of estrogen. 2OHE doesn’t provide this negative feedback, so greater testosterone synthesis can occur in the testes.
Additionally, I3C has aromatase inhibitory effects. Estrogen levels are controlled by I3C through the conversion of estradiol into estriol - a weaker form of estrogen. The strong growth signals that estradiol emits is blocked as estriol binds to the body’s estrogen receptors, therefore decreasing total estrogen output.
Magnesium is one of the essential minerals that the body requires for normal functioning, but it’s one that many men are deficient in. Magnesium is the second most prevalent electrolyte in the body, and as such is a vital component in a whole host of biological processes. Cell metabolism and protein synthesis rely heavily on magnesium, as do bone maintenance and growth, and testosterone production. Magnesium inhibits sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), which makes free testosterone unavailable as it binds to its receptors. This inhibition then frees bound testosterone, making it bioactive and available for use.
Just like magnesium, zinc is an essential mineral, and also one that is deficient in many. As well as being important for a whole host of bodily functions, like maintaining your immune system, zinc plays a vital role in raising the levels of both free and circulating testosterone. The dosage of zinc included in Gun Club Testosterone Support allows for aromatase inhibition to reduce estrogen levels when supplementing as well. Furthermore, the important role that zinc plays in protein synthesis makes it a vital component in strength building and muscle growth. Zinc has been found to contribute to improving metabolic rate and supporting fat loss, and its oxidative properties also aid in muscle recovery.
Also included in the Gun Club Testosterone Support are vitamins E, D and B12 for extra energy and general health boosting effects. Vitamin B6 is also present for its ability to aid the body in absorption of zinc and magnesium, and to allow the muscles to access the stored glycogen in the body for fuelling your workouts.
